Fridge & Freezer - Does Your Refrigerators Or Freezers Include The Auto-Defrost Function?
No.
Our freezers are not equipped with the auto defrost function. You have to defrost manually regularly
Why is there frost build-up: As freezers are very cold, air (which contains water vapour) will enter the freezer compartment whenever the door is opened. Water vapour will undergo deposition - change of state from gas to solid as ice (frost) on the cold surfaces.
How to Defrost Manually:
1. Turn the Temperature Control Rotary Knob to “OFF”, switch off the appliance and unplug the socket from the electric mains before cleaning or conducting maintenance. Open the doors of the appliance.
2. Wait until the interior of the appliance has completely warmed up, and the compressor cooled down, before cleaning or performing any maintenance operation.
3. If the interior of the appliance is covered with a layer of frost, defrosting needs to be carried out. Not performing this action may lead to an increase in electricity consumption and a lessening of the effects of refrigeration.
4. DO NOT use electrical devices (e.g. hairdryers, heaters, radiators, fans, etc. to melt ice), mechanical devices (sharp knives, ice-picks, etc. to scrape ice), a direct flame or by any other means to remove ice from the interior surfaces) when defrosting.
5. After defrosting, clean the interior of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth. If necessary, you can use a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent. DO NOT use abrasive scouring pads or powders.
6. Wipe the exterior of the appliance using a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Remove stubborn spots with a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent. DO NOT use abrasive scouring pads or powders.
7. DO NOT soak the appliance in water or other liquids, wash it under the tap, or let any liquid flow into the internal casing of the appliance to prevent electric shock
8. After cleaning, dry every surface using a soft cloth before restarting the appliance.
9. Remove dust and grime from the Condenser to keep it in good working order.
10. Rubbing some talcum powder on the gasket of the Freezer Door may help prolong its life.
